Streamlines At El Capricho Park Lake

Streamlines could be a work for the university when I was studying Aeronautical Engineering more than a photo title. But in this case, we could say than both of them.

The use of neutral density (ND) filters permits during the day to shot long exposures. As result, the water flow is showed in the picture like star trails in night shots. It is so curious how what I mathematically learnt is drawn here on the water.

After a rainy winter and beginning of spring, although this is an old pic, the image shows the usual leaves green tones at the beautiful El Capricho park, that this afternoon I am going to enjoy again with a walk there. Unfortunately, it opens only the weekend and has a restricted and scheduled access.

Windows In The Sky

I come back to my blog with a revision of an old picture taken to Space Tower (Torre Espacio) at Cuatro Torres Business Area, Madrid. Just a little post-processing to reduce noise with Noiseware and add sharpening using High Pass filter technique.

Dedicated to my favourite group, U2.

Once Upon A Time, A Siren Touched The Sky

This siren is one of the 4 ones that are part of the Monument complex to Alfonso XII, at the Retiro Park. When the sunset was finishing, I found the the clouds were surrounding the hand of the sculpture, so I decided to look for a point of view where the siren seemed that was touching the sky.

Lions Watching The Sunset

The main subject of this photo is an sculpture of a lion by Agapit Vallmitjana Abarca (1850–1915). It’s one of the four lions at the terraces of the monument to Alfonso XII of Spain, in the Retiro Park (Jardines del Buen Retiro) in Madrid, built from 1902 to 1922.

The lions were originally of stone, but due to their deterioration they were replaced by bronze copies in year 2000. The lions are in an extreme of the hemicycle of the monument and near the pond staircase.

Temple To Bacchus

El Capricho Park was created in the late 18th century by the Duke of Osuna. This park is one of the most outstanding and unique examples of the landscape garden in Spain. It is a setting replete with romanticism, combining Italian and French influences.

On the hillside in the transition between the forest and the palace, stands the Temple to Bacchus, a piece of unique architectural beauty. The elliptical pavilion, designed by Jean Baptiste Mulot, is one of the most remarkable buildings at the gardens of this beautiful park.

The Sciences figure is represented as a matron with a crown, a robe on her shoulders, and with a protractor on her right hand while holding a book with her left one.

Sunset On The Back Of Marbella Promenade

I live between 2 cities in Spain, Madrid – where I work – and Marbella – where I usually spend a lot of my holidays. Marbella is known in the world as a classical meeting point for the ‘jet set’. But, in any case , it is currently a site that it is invaded by the massive tourism and not only the elite. From my point of view, the best of the city is the soft weather, that can be even warmer in the winters and colder in the summer than other near towns in the Sun Coast – ‘Costa del Sol’, like Fuengirola, Torremolinos, Benalmadena …

As usual in summer, there are so few chances for landscapes photography, cos the climate is hot and the sky is usually clear. But, it is usual at the end on August, that the clouds appear near the sunset. After having a afternoon with so much stormy clouds, we had finally the sunset that you see in the picture.
